With 812 million orders, the TMALL Double eleven E-shopping Festival 2017 set a new world record of logistics again! A few hours after 0:00 o’clock, Daniel Zhang, CEO of Alibaba, Tong Wenhong, CPO of Alibaba Group and chairman of Cainiao Network, and Wan Lin, president of Cainiao Network hurried to the logistics warehouses and delivery points across China to check logistics operations overnight, sending their regards and praises to front-line logistics personnel.
During his visit, Daniel Zhang revealed that the TMALL Double eleven E-shopping Festival owns thanks to all delivery couriers who are true miracle makers. He also expressed his hope that everyone should understand and care about them more.

The logistics operation during the TMALL Double eleven E-shopping Festival is efficient and orderly on 2017. Driven by Cainiao Intelligent Logistics, the first package is delivered in 12 minutes and 18 seconds, the first import order delivered in 33 minutes and 15 seconds, and the first order to rural areas delivered in 69 minutes and50 seconds. On Double eleven,TMALL shipped 366 million orders, demonstrating the high efficiency of socialized logistics.
Daniel Zhang, Tong Wenhong and Wan Lin respectively arrived at the logisticswarehouses and express distribution centers in Jiading District of Shanghai, Hangzhou, Jiaxing and Ningbo of Zhejiang Province, and Wuxi of Jiangsu Province.
The Cainiao Hangzhou Xiasha Fully Automated Warehouse operated by ALOG has a warehousing area over 100,000 square meters and an inventory capacity of about 20 million commodities. The goods in the warehouse will automatically find the picker based on algorithms. The automated sorters have realized quick sortingpackages, saving 70% of costs in 13 processes.
“All ALOG operating centers across the world will spare no effort in providing global business owners with powerful supply chain assurance with steady and quality services,” Xing Wei, chairman of ALOG said.
Daniel Zhang gained a detailed understanding of the application of Cainiao intelligent order distribution in express distribution and the operation of unmanned high-bay warehouses. He believes that technical development and quick application of technology in the logistics synergy system is the key to improvement of logistics efficiency of the industry.
At the IT Logistics FMCG Warehouse in Wuxi, Tong Wenhong enquired about order prediction, packaging materials, packaging and shipment, and express delivery details. As intelligent equipment has been widely adopted, YTO and ZTO distribution centers can easily cope with the logistics test during the Double eleven E-shopping Festival.

At 9:00 p.m. on November 12, the customs officers of Hangzhou Xiasha Bonded Area were still at work to guarantee customs clearance. Daniel Zhang extended his gratitude to the customs and CIQ officers. At 8:08 a.m. on Double eleven , 5 million orders of TMALL had completed customs clearance, much faster than customs clearance last year.
“The TMALL Double eleven E-shopping Festival is not only about the rapid upgrade of the express industry, but also about the rapid upgrade of Customs and CIQ. It will become a routine thing. After working for several years, the Customs system and Alibaba have formed a quite tacit bond that brings consumers ultimate experience,” A Customs officer said.
According to the statics of the State Post Bureau, the total orders from all Chinese E-commerce platforms on Double eleven reached 850 million, 812 million (95%) of which were generated from TMALL. With 3 million workers, 30,000,000 square meters of operating area, 90,000 trunk line transport vehicles and 90 all-cargo carriers during the Double eleven E-shopping Festival, the industry has a capacity reserve 30% to 50% up from usual.
By 4:00 p.m. of November 12, only 16 hours after Double eleven, TMALL buyers of 355 cities across China (including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) had received the packages they bought on Double eleven. It means that the 24h delivery service initiated by Cainiao has been gradually extended to all corners of China.
